Commercial broadcasters TV Norge and TV Aftenbladet have announced that they will be allocating air time to each political party participating in the election, free of charge. In the interests of democracy, a similar arrangement should be made on national public television.

The Green Party of Norway therefore urges Minister of Culture and Church Affairs, Trond Giske, to introduce political broadcasts following the example of the United Kingdom and several other countries. We suggest that all nation-wide parties be allocated a minimum of air time to present their policies during the election campaign. We call upon democratically-minded people across the world, of all political affiliations, to let Minister Giske know that the current situation is detrimental to democracy in Norway, encouraging him to take action.
